Our sustainability initiatives during your stay range from the local food that we source, local real ales, recyclable products and environmentally friendly products in each of the hotel’s bathrooms.
Here at the Duke of Normandie Hotel we use The BeeKind Hotelier Collection of toiletries in each of our bathrooms is in paper bottles. A packaging innovation that represents a 59% reduction in material by weight and a 92% reduction in waste space compared to rigid plastic bottles, as well as in 100% recyclable tubes.
The company also supports the honey bee and sustainable pollination research at the University of California. This is done by donating a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the BeeKind Collection to the University’s Honey Bee Research Program.
Do you ever think about all those plastic straws you use and where they end up? They have routinely been one of the top 10 items found on beaches around the world! Guernsey has many idyllic unspoilt beaches and stunning bays and we hope to help protect them for years to come. This is why The Pickled Pig, our gastro pub now uses the more eco-friendly option of paper straws plus our swizzle sticks are now recyclable wood.
